Since October 2000 Glenfirra of Langholm Ltd. has been officially repairing Border Fine Arts figurines, and in that time has restored over 1,000 broken figurines to the highest possible standard. Using the same materials and paints that Border Fine Arts uses in production, the company have been able to achieve restoration of each item in under six weeks to the total satisfaction of nearly all of their customers.
Their location is the secret to their success, as situated in Langholm, the home of Border Fine Arts, Glenfirra has been able to adopt the skills and product knowledge of former Border Fine Arts employees to ensure that they provide the excellent service and quality that collectors from around the world have come to expect. Heading up the skilled team of fettlers, mould-makers and packers is Drew Weatherstone, director of Glenfirra and former Master Painter with Border Fine Arts until his retirement. Other directors of Glenfirra are John Dinwoodie and Denis Male, experts on base making and metal work respectively.
Customers sending figurines by post, will be telephoned with a free estimate before any repair work is carried out. If the figurine is not repairable then a letter can be provided for insurance purposes. Society Members who quote their current membership number will be entitled to a 5% discount on restoration costs. It is advisable to contact Glenfirra who will be happy to advise on how to get your repair to them.
